Empowering Growth Through Accountability: How Community Dental Partners Added $1.6 Million in a Single Quarter

We recently sat down with Maggie Camacho, Chief Operating Officer of Community Dental Partners (CDP), to learn how she’s driven impressive growth and cultural transformation across their 76+ locations in Texas, Indiana, and Georgia.  

Strong organizational leadership, paired with a concerted effort to implement Dental Intelligence Follow Ups, has created a scalable, results-driving model that any DSO would be proud to emulate.

From Flat to 2,708% Growth in One Quarter

Just a few months ago, before making Dental Intelligence Follow Ups a key part of their strategy, CDP had generated just $60,000 with the tool during all of Q1. After making Follow Ups a central part of their operating procedure, CDP’s Q2 finished with a seismic shift in performance for all major Follow Up types, specifically:

Throw in an extra $428 from miscellaneous sources, and that means CDP generated $1,684,999 in a single quarter.

That’s an increase of 2,708.33%.

So how did they do it? What changed?  

In short, they discovered an efficient, targeted combination of retraining and a culture of accountability.  

“When I saw what other companies were doing with Follow Ups, I thought, that could be us,” Maggie told us. “So we started retraining immediately.”

Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all rollout, Maggie broke training into small, regional groups. “We have nine regions,” she explained. “We started one region at a time. The expectation was: as of today, you start using Follow Ups, and we’ll monitor that usage every day.”

Investing in Leadership and Retention

CDP provides a bonus program that encourages overall practice performance, and follow-ups have been a significant factor in reaching their goals.

But it’s not just as easy as demanding performance from the team. Anyone can do that. Instead, Maggie combines personal accountability with an equal emphasis on professional development.

Every week, Maggie meets with all her practice managers and regional managers, combining mentoring and operational reviews. “I buy them books on leadership. I do whatever it takes.”

Owning Your Outcome = Scalable Success

Strong leadership has brought CDP to 40% year-over-year growth in Q1 and Q2 without acquisitions

Dental Intelligence’s real-time data and reporting played a major role in enabling this growth. “I, at least once a week, am checking in with each office. What best practices are they using? What are their outcomes?” Maggie said. “Educating each practice manager and having them own their outcome has been really big for us.”

Leveraging the Morning Huddle

Dental Intelligence Morning Huddle is another cornerstone of CDP’s operational rhythm. “I love the whole platform,” Maggie said. “You have to begin that day right. You have to give that direction of what today’s going to look like, how we're going to make it happen.”

Looking Ahead

As CDP prepares for more growth, Maggie credits Dental Intelligence as a key partner in their success: “When Tony, our CEO, brought Dental Intelligence to me, I thought, jeez, a little more work. But when I saw what it actually does, and how we can easily track actual production from Follow Ups, it became a tool I appreciate deeply.”
